The Greater Angkor Project (GAP) is a multi-disciplinary research project co-ordinated by the University of Sydney (Australia) in collaboration with the Ecole Française d’Extême Orient (France), APSARA (Cambodia), the body responsible for the management of the Angkor World Heritage Park, and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (Australia).

The GAP has been generously supported since 2001 by the Australian Federal Government via the Australian Research Council’s Discovery Projects scheme (DP0211012, DP0558130 and DP1092663). In 2010 we received over one million Australian dollars to continue our research at Angkor through to 2015.

The project involves several staff members, numerous post-graduate and senior undergraduate students, professional and student volunteers from Australia and around the world.
