Although staff and students are undertaking research as part of the Greater Angkor Project throughout the entire year, most project activity takes place during the major annual field season, which is generally held from early January until mid February every year in order to coincide with cool and dry weather in Siem Reap. In recent years there has also been a much smaller field season in July. Most of the activities outside of the field season take place at the University of Sydney, where a number of researchers are based at the Archaeological Computing Laboratory and within the School of Geosciences, both located (along with other facilities) in the Madsen building. The Archaeology Department runs a series of weekly seminars during the teaching semester, and project members present their research frequently in this forum. This section of the website is updated frequently, so please visit frequently and make sure to check out our calendar of events. |
