On Sunday the 30th of November the University's Robert Christie Research Centre in Siem Reap, Cambodia, hosted an evening of talks on the subject of intangible cultural heritage (ICH), one of the key research areas of the Australian teams working in the Angkor area. |

New Research Centre in Siem Reap |

Thanks to a generous philanthropic contribution from the Robert Christie Foundation, the University of Sydney's various Cambodia-related projects have a new base of operations which will serve the needs of researchers on the ground for the next ten years. Based in Siem Reap, the official opening of the University of Sydney Robert Christie Research Centre took place on June 4, 2008 in a ceremony attended by the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, His Excellency Sok An; the Australian Ambassador to Cambodia, Ms. Margaret Adamson, and other dignitaries. |

New Map of Greater Angkor Presented at UNESCO Forum |

A new archaeological map of the greater Angkor region was formally presented to the APSARA Authority, the Cambodian government agency responsible for overseeing Angkor, at a meeting of the International Co-ordinating Committee for Angkor organised by UNESCO Cambodia. |
