Wall paintings: possible
reconstructions of some portrait fragments |

These images show digitised tracings of fragments, which
are
then placed onto a template. This method of preliminary reconstruction
allows us to better understand each fragment as part of a portrait, and, in
a macro context, the different portraits found across the gallery. The
torso templates do not show the head because, as evidenced by the
reconstructions below, the personages face either left or right. The
scale of each fragment on this page must be seen in relation to the
individual scale bar, and not in relation to other fragments. The resizing
of each image necessary for web publication makes it difficult to show each
fragment at exactly the same scale.
