Alison Betts
   


 Associate Professor Alison Betts lectures on the archaeology of the Near East and Central Asia at the University of Sydney. She is Director of the University of Sydney Central Asian Programme. Her main research interest is the study of nomadic peoples. Apart from her work in Central Asia, she has engaged in research on the rise of nomadic pastoralism in the Near East, rock art of North Arabia and the later prehistory of the Badiyat al-Sham.
