Wangka Maya welcomes Marieke Martin to the team for the next two months. Marieke will be working on the Ngarluma languages; in particular on verbs and preparing a verb table and pronoun table to accompany the Ngarluma dictionary. Marieke has come all the way from Germany and we hope she really enjoys her time with one of the best language centres in Australia!

Wangka Maya's cultural awareness training (CAT) program has run strongly again this year with 86 sessions being delivered with between 10 and 30 people per session. Bookings are being taken for the 2009 year. This year Wangka Maya trialled offering 10 general sessions in Hedland and the response was fantastic. Many more groups and individuals have subsequently benefitted from this training.

These dictionaries are available for personal use and can be found on this website at the 'resources' section on the left hand menu and by then clicking on 'Interactive Dictionaries'. A limited number of languages are available and more will be made as we can.
