The Wangka Maya building is creeping closer and closer to completion. Jessica and Eleonora went for a quick walk and look in and around the site and they're now both very very excited about moving in. Even more than before.
The linguists currently working on sketch grammars for various languages visited Perth 25-27th of August to have a huge editing and formatting session of the work they have done.
Wangka Maya wishes to welcome linguist Jessica Denniss to the team! Jessica started work hot on the heels of Henry Fraser and will be with us for 5 to 6 months. She will be working on checks and databases for the Yinhawangka and Kariyarra languages. Jessica's work carries on from terrific work done on these languages by Cassandra Pace and Henry Fraser.
Due to demand, Wangka Maya is pleased to annouce the release of ten additional dates for cultural awareness training (CAT) between now and the end of 2008. These places are available for members of the public and staff from any organisation. Cost is $220 all inclusive- lunch, morning tea and course material.
